This is Mrs. Swickard’s 18th year teaching at St. Fabian. She has served as a second grade teacher, kindergarten teacher, learning specialist, and PASS program facilitator. She is a proud alumna of St. Fabian as are her two daughters who now attend Michigan State University and Grand Valley State University.
From the PASS Program Specialist
I serve as a mentor to our teachers and a facilitator to our students in grades 1-5 for the PASS program (Personalized Academic Success Strategies). This is a technology driven learning tool which motivates students while they are completing computer-based activities. This 21st Century learning tool empowers both the teacher and learner by delivering personalized instruction that is self-paced and at each student’s academic level. Using data derived from STAR assessment results, students will be directed to focus on weak or missing grade level skills or challenged to work above their grade level when they have mastered skills.
Teachers have the ability to analyze student growth and progress and assign targeted assignments to enhance the learning process. With the ability to support each students’ unique learning journey, this technology will help to close the achievement gap while assisting students on their pathway to academic success. It brings me such joy to be able to work with your child to fulfill the St. Fabian mission statement; striving to grow as joyful, missionary disciples who welcome and witness to others, inviting them to know Jesus.
