Lent 2022: The Sadness of Christ

This Lent let us look through the eyes of St. Thomas More as he composes his last work during his imprisonment in the Tower of London, The Sadness of Christ.

Prior to his martyrdom, St. Thomas More reflected deeply upon the sadness Christ experienced as He entered into His Passion, so that he could overcome his own sadness, weariness and fear as he faced suffering and persecution.

At a time when we are experiencing social and political turmoil, and persecution of the Catholic Faith, let us also reflect on the sadness of Christ, with St. Thomas More as our guide.
