Promise of the Father, Baptized in the Holy Spirit

After His Resurrection, Jesus spent time with the apostles instructing them and continuing to teach them.  “While meeting with them, he enjoined them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the ‘promise of the Father about which you have heard me speak; for John baptized with water, but in a few days, you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit’”  (Acts 1: 4 – 5).

Jesus gave this same promise to us. At Baptism and then at Confirmation, we have received this same power of the Holy Spirit. Join Sue Crudgington and Peggy Aoun for dinner and an evening of reflection to encounter the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth [including Farmington Hills]” (Acts 1: 8).
