Mr. Bickes has been working with school age children since 1999 where he began as a Junior Camp Counselor at Camp Sancta Maria (CSM) in Gaylord, MI. Mr. Bickes worked at CSM the summers of 1999-2010, only missing the summer of 2003. After graduating from Santa Clara University, he worked as a Rowing Coach at Orchard Lake St. Mary's and as the after-school coordinator at Tutor Time Learning Center, West Bloomfield. He returned to school to pursue his master's degree in Educational Psychology from Oklahoma City University where he was the Graduate Assistant Rowing Coach and later Women's Head Coach before returning to Michigan to finish his teaching certificate at Madonna University. After completing student teaching and a long-term sub position at West Bloomfield High School he worked at University of Detroit Jesuit High School before coming to St. Fabian in the fall of 2021. Along with teaching he continues to coach at Northville High School as the Head Rowing Coach. When he is not teaching or coaching, he enjoys time with his family, Anthony (5th Grade), Teaguen (2nd Grade), and his wife, Kelly, who has taught Spanish for 23 years at Mercy High School.
