About Me
I have been teaching Literature and English in Catholic schools for seven years now. Though I had not always planned on being a teacher, such as when I first attended college, I felt called to this profession. I greatly enjoy sharing my love of the subject, knowledge and faith with the students.
From the Teacher
Teaching middle school allows me to see students grow over multiple years. I want my students to grow not just in their knowledge and skills, but also in their faith. I enjoy students having an "Aha" moment as they make a connection. I also like to see how they grow in confidence and build onto current knowledge with new content.
In 6th grade English, we focus on different types of writing and grow with grammar and vocabulary. In 7th grade Literature, we focus on stories and books that students can relate to and connect to their lives. We also make sure to connect to faith. We work on context clues and making inferences. In 8th grade English, we focus on close reading and writing but we also focus on public speaking, giving students confidence and skills that will assist them as they move onto high school. |
