About Mrs. Sute |
Welcome to 8th Grade Homeroom
& 5th-8th Grade Science! This year I am excited to be joining the St. Fabian community as the middle school science and eighth grade homeroom teacher. In science, each grade level has its own specific focus or subject area. Eighth grade is studying life science, seventh grade is studying physical science (chemistry and physics), sixth grade is studying earth science, and fifth grade is studying integrated science (a little bit of all the sciences). While teaching science, I emphasize the importance of critical thinking skills as students learn about how scientists in the past have used scientific thinking and investigations to make new discoveries and revolutionize our way of thinking about the world around us. Through their studies, students build upon their own understanding of the application of scientific investigations, enabling them to apply scientific thinking skills in their personal lives. At the same time, I keep God at the forefront of all that we are learning, reminding students that our God is a God of order and logic, and that those attributes of God are reflected in all we can see and discover about our universe through science.
