About Mrs. Sadowski
Education:
Bachelor's degree in English and elementary education from Madonna University. I am currently adding a math endorsement to my certificate. I also have a paralegal degree.
Experience:
I have taught in the Archdiocese of Detroit since 2000. Many of these years have been teaching English at the middle school level. However, I have also taught math and religion. Lastly, at the elementary grade level, I have worked as a homeroom self-contained teacher to grades 4 & 5.
Family:

Husband Don, two children who will start St. Fabian's this fall: John and Susanna.
Free Time:
I enjoy visiting Belle Isle and playing at the beach with my family, exporing museums, reading, and shopping!
Likes:
The color green, warm cups of tea, flowers and gardening, playing in the pool and the smell of the ocean.
Dislikes:
When I am lied to, flies--especially if one gets in my house!, and traffic congestion.
Welcome to Grade 5 Homeroom & Literature / 5th-8th Grade English/Writing
In 5th grade reading, we read a variety of texts-both fiction and nonfiction. We explore character, plot and setting. One of our biggest goals is moving from the concrete to the abstract while understanding the message, moral, or theme of our stories. In 5th grade and middle school English, we spend a great deal of time mastering punctuation through daily editing activities and  mastering grammar through sentence diagramming. Finally, there are many writing activities throughout the year-ranging from shorter informal writing prompts to formal creative pieces and research papers.
