This is Ms. Kelley’s first year at St. Fabian, however, is in her 6th year teaching for the Archdiocese of Detroit. For the past 5 years she had the privilege to teach 3rd grade. Before teaching in the Catholic schools she was an aide in a public school, as well as an English language facilitator. She has over 15 years of experience in education. Ms. Kelley has one daughter, Olivia, who is 4 years old. She is enrolled in the PreSchool at St. Fabian. It is wonderful to have her at the same building that she teaches at.
From the First Grade Teacher
In Ms. Kelley’s first grade room, you will find students working together or independently on the fundamentals of reading and math skills. We are working on phonics skills, developing comprehension skills, writing skills, and handwriting skills. Students are eager to come to class, and work extremely hard. In first grade, there is a lot of growth from the start of the year, until the end of the year, and it is wonderful to see that progress.
