Welcome to 2nd Grade!

My philosophy of teaching focuses on the enrichment of the whole child. In our classroom, children are encouraged to be their best selves and true followers of Jesus. Second graders will walk into a stimulating educational environment where they can grow academically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

Second grade is a big year as we prepare for the sacrament of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. We will be learning about God’s individualized love for us and how we can show God our love. In Second grade, we are learning to be more independent learners. We are reading more for comprehension and decoding new vocabulary words, we are expanding our math skills by challenging ourselves with greater numbers and higher order questions, we are examining the lives of plants, animals, and the world around us, and we are exploring deeper into what a community entails. Second Grade is a great year full of friendship, fun, and learning, it is sure to be a wonderful educational adventure!
