The purpose of the St. Fabian School Advisory Committee is to
assist in developing school policies compatible with the parish
philosophy and goals, and apprise the implementation thereof. Their
functions include:
- coordinating policies with the Parish Council, the Pastor, the
School Administrator, and the Archdiocesan School Board
- Acting in an advisory capacity to the School Administrator,
regarding the guidelines and the policies of the ordinary of the
Diocese, the Archdiocesan School Office and the State of
Michigan.
- Serving as a planning and building committee for long-range
planning and maintenance of our school community.
- Providing recruitment for parents and community to create
better understanding of, and support for, Catholic education
throughout the community.
The Parent Involvement Program (PIP) and the Parent Teacher Guild
(PTG) are separate subcommittees of the School Advisory Committee.
If a parent is interested in attending a meeting, they are to
petition in writing clearly stating the purpose for which they
desire to address the committee. In the event the Advisory Committee
approves the request, it will be placed as the first item of new
business on the agenda. At that time only, the petitioner may
address the committee. (Article VI - Constitution of the St. Fabian
Advisory Committee).
