Dear Parishioners and Friends:
A very happy and holy Easter season to you! May the joy and promise which Easter brings, help to renew your faith and fill your heart with peace and all God’s good gifts.
I would like to welcome you to the St. Fabian web site. It is a sincere pleasure for us to share a bounty of information with you about who we are and what we are about as a Roman Catholic Church community located in southeastern Michigan, in the city of Farmington Hills, and one of 300 parishes in the Archdiocese of Detroit under the spiritual direction of His Eminence Adam Cardinal Maida, the Archbishop of Detroit.
During this Easter season in 2008 we are especially grateful to God as we celebrate our 50th anniversary as a parish family. Since our founding on June 27, 1958, St. Fabian parish has served as a beacon of light and strength for thousands of people who have made this parish their church home. St. Fabian parish school (K-8) remains a strong and vital part of the parish. A fully accredited institution, it has prepared children since 1965 to take their place in the church and society as enlightened and committed disciples of the Lord Jesus. Our outstanding programs of Religious Formation offer our youth the opportunity to advance in wisdom and understanding of our faith as Catholics. Our parish Youth Group continues to draw literally hundreds of our teens into active participation in the church and in the larger society through instruction, social outreach and deep camaraderie. Many social and recreational events are continually a part of our lives here at St. Fabian – most especially our ever- growing CYO athletic programs that offer our youth many avenues to develop their athletic skills and become more well-rounded individuals.
During the course of our jubilee year, we have several exciting activities planned to help us enjoy the blessings of the past 50 years. Combining both spiritual and other social activities we hope to gather both current and former parishioners in order that our year of jubilee may truly be complete. You will find the complete list of our 50th anniversary celebrations under a special link on this web
site.
As we give thanks to God for the foundations of faith that St. Fabian has been for these past five decades, we hope to renew our vision and commitment to continue our legacy of love and service. Guided by our rich past and prompted by the Spirit of Jesus we look forward to a future filled with hope. Grateful for all that has been and tall that is to come, I remain.
Cordially,
Fr. Brian
