ST. FABIAN SCHOOL Guidance and Counseling Curriculum
Introduction

The Guidance and Counseling Curriculum at St. Fabian consists of structured, developmentally appropriate experiences that are presented systematically to all students through classroom and group activities. The curriculum is focused on three content areas: Personal/Social Development, Academic Development, and Career Development.
Each year, a needs assessment is conducted to identify and prioritize the curriculum areas. The guidance curriculum is presented with the purpose of empowering students to be successful in all facets of life throughout their life span. While the counselor is responsible for organization and implementation of the guidance curriculum, the support and cooperation of the entire school staff is necessary for successful delivery.

A variety of programs maybe used in the implementation of the guidance curriculum, including Project Alert, a substance abuse education program; Don't Laugh at Me, a curriculum to create a positive school environment; and a variety of character education programs.
