Housing the Homeless

Every year in early November, the parishioners of St. Fabian come together and host 40-50 homeless guests in our facility for the week. Hundreds of volunteers become involved either through donating needed food, hygiene items, bedding, etc., or by giving of their time during the week as a hospitality representative, night monitor, run the clothing closet, wash the laundry, etc. Even the children of our parish become actively involved by writing letters of welcome, creating place mats that are used at meal time, packing lunches, or entertaining our guests in the evening. We truly become the “Bread of Life” to each other, ministering to our “least brothers and sisters” in the name of Christ. If you are interested in becoming involved in this amazing week, please call the parish office for more information, or watch the bulletin beginning early summer.
